Swedish Massage is designed to help relax the body and mind through manipulation of the soft tissues of the body - the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue. A mechanical action is created by moving these soft tissues using pressure, kneading and stretching movements, thereby cleansing them of acids and deposits. This mechanical action breaks up fibrous tissue, gently separating individual muscle fibres that may be knotted together and loosens stiff joints.
Movement is gentle, slow and rhythmical leaving you feeling relaxed and de-stressed. |

The aim is firstly to sedate the sensory nerves, stimulate blood flow and reduce muscle tension. Secondly, to rebalance the muscles, clearing away lymph congestion and unknotting any fibres through various techniques of massage.
By relaxing the muscles we can move more freely and breathe more deeply.
Treatments are adapted to your needs and can last from 20 minutes for a localised treatment, up to 90 minutes for a full body massage. Only clothing for the body part exposed need be removed. Towels are used to preserve warmth and cover exposed skin not under treatment.
Please allow an extra 10 to 15 minutes for your initial treatment to complete a medical history consultation to ensure no contra-indications to massage exist. |
